The location, general look of the place , and price point certainty built a certain anticipation of high quality, however, the meal did not live up to expectation. I was incredibly hungry when I arrived here, which would usually make almost any food taste good, but the lack of enthusiasm of the serving staff, and the below Parr food, ruined the experience. I ordered a full breakfast, which was piled onto my plate with absolutely no pride in presentation. The crowning glory being a fried egg, complete with snotty undercooked white. As I had asked for no toast or hash browns, (the latter being an item of American junk food that has NO PLACE on a British breakfast I was asked if I would like an extra sausage, I said no thanks, but I 'll have extra bacon, the server sighed and it almost seemed like I 'd stabbed a baby by his demeanor. I decided to eat in the conservatory (which was extremely pleasant btw, complete with trees and birds chirping. . The sausages were absolutely huge, but extremely low quality, and also undercooked. I 'm so glad I didn 't get an extra one. The bacon was covered in supermarket scum , something I wouldn 't expect here, so had been injected with saline as they do in supermarkets. And the black pudding was burnt, and dry. For £12 I would expect this to be a whole load better than it was. I go to my local butchers every Saturday, and for under a fiver I can feed 2 people a much higher standard of fried breakfast than this.

We have been going to the restaurant for years and this is the first bad experience. The food server came across as hostile and impatiently pressed us to make a choice on arrival, even though we were the only two in the queue. The condiments weren 't labelled so we asked where the horseradish was. He pointed in an exasperated way, whilst scowling. We asked him if he was having a good day and he replied yes because it 's been really quiet . We hurried our meal and quickly left, without shopping. We felt unwelcome and we won 't be in any hurry to return. The roast potatoes used to be the draw for me, however these appear to be the frozen variety now, and were bog standard. The carrots were too hard to eat. There was no way we were complaining, given our experience. I feel a bit sad about what 's happened to this restaurant.

House of Bruar Restaurant provided an amazing experience, especially with their generous and helpful staff. Despite arriving late due to a bad accident, the team accommodated us well, particularly with picky kids. The chicken ham pie was notably fantastic, and even the turkey pleased the young ones. Highly recommended for a great dining experience.
