The manager of the pub was really rude doesn’t deal well under stress and quite frankly poor behaviour not just towards his customers but staff. I really hope for the company’s sake he is replaced soon as it’s such a lovely pub that’s been my local for years but sadly I wouldn’t want to go in there again while he is the manger. cross house is nice and the fresh field pub round the corner highly rate them. Asked for if steak and ale pie was short crust. I don't think that's an unreasonable question. Gentleman taking order said he didn't know. I asked him to please ask. Eventually I asked him to please ask the chef as the staff by the bar he asked didn't know. I was then told it was. When it came it wasn't, it was puff pastry. At this point, I gave up and didn't say anything. It was still nice though. Food: 3
