POSITIVES:The luau is in a very nice setting in the open air and on a carpet of manicured grass. The natural stage on a grassy knoll with the ocean and sunset in the background is an excellent capitalization on the best features of the locale. Private seating was a desired and welcomed feature for us. The first course of food was exceptionally tasty all of it!PLUS/MINUS:The musicians did bring a fun play list and some talented guitar licks, but the vocals were often pitchy and off key as they sat stoically on their stools exerting no energy and showing no engagement with the audience. The servers were adequately present but a bit robotic and not very professional (could not fulfill such simple requests as bringing a soda that was not mostly water and then showing a 180 degree change in personality by giving a cold shoulder after such requests were politely made. The second course of food was unimpressive and uncommonly dry all of it! Only the fish (Mahi Mahi had nice flavor but was still drier than it should have been.NEGATIVES:Contrary to some reviews found online there was very little to set this luau apart from the multitudes of others available on the islands, except its exorbitant price (I have been to dozens over our many years of visits . There was nothing exceptional about the food or service. The show was painfully boring and offensive at times its story line and number selections were flat, the hostess ' delivery was rote, the performers were mostly void of energy and excitement, and the inclusion of political leaning remarks while re telling a story of historical offenses unnecessarily evokes discomfort during what is intended to be a happy viewing.SUMMARY:Overall, this luau is meh at best and definitely not worth the extremely high price. I would not recommend for anyone to pay to visit this production, for any reason.
