The Dial House - Table reservation

We made a reservation early, but despite the restaurant being almost empty, the service was still slow, although charming. In a hurry for lunch, we opted for sandwiches - my friend ordered a steak sandwich for £10 and I chose a club sandwich for £11. Both were served on thick slices of sourdough bread, making it difficult to cut. My club sandwich was supposed to have chicken, egg, salad, and bacon but instead had cold egg, ham (not bacon), and limp salad, resulting in a tasteless and unexciting meal. My friend's sandwich also lacked flavor, with cold steak and sourdough bread. The only saving grace was that the chips were good. We had enjoyed good meals during previous visits and liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, so it was disappointing to have such underwhelming food this time.

This was my second visit and was a little disappointing after the first which was excellent. Service was slow, we had to ask for our side dish twice before it was brought to our table. The sandwiches were average, lacking filling and the side salad limp. The venue is beautiful and the concept great. I hope for better if I visit again.

This restaurant is a lovely place to dine. I recommend requesting a table outside of the main dining area as it can get quite loud inside. The fish we ordered was cooked perfectly and the appetizers were sublime. Each dish had a perfect balance of flavors without anything being overpowering.

1. I recently visited The Dial House for Sunday dinner and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The Bounty Bar dessert was particularly outstanding.
