This is our favourite chippy, we go whenever we are in the area, but be very careful when you order online! I always pre order and pay online, despite this the food is never ready at the designated time, I always have to wait, usually about 10-15 minutes. I don’t mind this as they are busy and I have a chat with the lovely lady (Claire? . Last week I did my usual online order and to my dismay I realised that I had clicked on the wrong pick up time, it was a couple of hours too early and I wouldn’t even be on the island by then. I tried to alter it but the website doesn’t allow for this, I tried to ring several times but no one picked up. The website has a ‘contact us’ facility so I messaged to ask if my order could be delayed. When I arrived at 7pm I was given cold food and told that it was my fault (which it was and they couldn’t afford to do a fresh one. I drove home and put it in the bin. I’m disappointed that having made an error there was no facility to rectify my mistake. Beware, it’s an expensive mistake.
Food was lovely. Although a bit pricey. Not sure why there isn’t food ready in the food shelf? It was so busy and had to wait 50 minutes for fish chips and peas. Usually when the shops are busy staff know to cook some fish ready to avoid long waiting times. Had to stand outside in the rain for 50 minutes which I really didn’t appreciate.
Ordered 6 different meals to take away. Collected within 30 mins. The cod was the best I have had. Well cooked with nice batter. Chips that tasted great. Not dry. Scampi was enjoyed by the children. Second visit and will go back for more.
Great set up for contactless and social distancing. Long wait for food (as expected as only chippy in the village) so not an issue. Was advised when ordering about the wait time. Food was lovely and lots of choice
