My husband and I had an amazing dinner at this place. For starter we had a delicious english muffin loaf, pork and apple butter and baby pork ribs, BBQ glaze, peanut and cackling crumb!!! Main course we had a medium rare hereford fillet of beef, roasted shallot puree, pommes Anna, bordelaise sauce- with cheese and chive mash and sautée cabbage and onions. All cooked to perfection!!!! The The pick me up Tiramisu with foxdent dark rum was to die for!!!! Amazing food experience. The ambience, the service and the music selection on the background was all perfect! Mr Lani and his team looked after us so well. Passionate, well organised and talented staff, delivering top quality Michelin style food!!! We will be back for sure!!!!

We had Sunday lunch at this restaurant with friends . Two chose the chowder, it was unusual and really exciting . Two chose the mackerel pate … that went down well . For mains three chose the fillet roast and one the lamb fillet …. Excellent too many roast potatoes for some …. To finish three chose the tart tatin and one the choc caramel tart. The tart tatin was most unusual but never less tasty . Service was efficient and friendly. A bottle of Bechereau Pomerol helped the lunch go in a flash. Well done the kitchen and the team

Most restaurants around here are average not bad but not memorable. The Chequers is different as we had a most excellent lunch here. Each course was a taste sensation and that is no exaggeration. The price of a three course meal was less than £30. Mind you their excellent wine list will top this up a bit but what a great experience. To cap it all the owners and staff are so attentive and friendly. We will certainly go again. Thanks to everyone.
