Came here for a birthday dinner for my husband, but I didn't enjoy my meal. First, the calamari appetizer- I have had quite a number of calamari dishes, but this one didn't cut it for me (including others at the table except one person), but I couldn't place my hand on what it was. Then, I requested that the protein in my dish be swapped (no beef or chicken, so I asked for shrimp). I was told I would have to pay for that, which maybe wasn't bad, but the price was what cut me off. I then requested a different dish. Next, I requested roasted vegetables with halibut. The vegetables were which indeed was flavorful, but the fish wasn't, so I asked that it be removed. For the other dishes, scallop and shrimp risotto, Chesapeake pasta, snake bite , crab cake sandwich, they were okay. Although the manager did give a 100% discount on my dish, my crew has requested not to return here.
Amazing evening at the GORGEOUS New Blackwall Barn Lodge. Food, atmosphere and staff was amazing. So great to have a Restaurant of this caliber, that is not a chain establishment, in Columbia. A special thank you to the Owner who despite all he was juggling took time to ask about our experience. Had great service, food was very solid. We ordered a lot and some items were better than others. Biggest gripe was the noise they had a piano player that evening and it was just too loud for how many people they had in the space. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
Wow what a gorgeous venue! The service was great and the food and drinks were really good. This would be an amazing venue for an event, even a wedding. It's so pretty!!
