"Dining at the Ahwahnee is more for the experience than the food. The prime rib was amazing and the salads were great, but everything else was meh. The prawns were wayyyyyy too spicy! The hotel is amazing to see, especially at night, would I spend the ridiculous amount of money to eat here again? Definitely not."

The hotel email will say that there is a buffet and the hotel will be decorated during the day. For me, just being informed in advance is fine. The waiters in the restaurant are very professional in greeting guests, taking orders, and clearing away tableware. The receptionist checked our reservation status and took us to the window accurately and politely. She did not ignore my reservation information (I was treated poorly in Huangshi before) In addition to professional service, the waiter who took the order also took the initiative to chat with us to find out what we were dissatisfied with. The waiter who cleared the tableware enthusiastically took a lot of photos for us. It was the kind of photo-taking and proactive service that comes from the heart. During the meal, the manager noticed that we didn't bring salad, so he took the initiative to bring us salad. And explained that possible staffing issues may not meet all our needs. My overall experience was good. After ordering drinks and eating at the last table, everyone had to get off work and no one rushed us. I hope I can come again if I have the chance. It may not be a buffet then and maybe the taste will be better.

Large buffet breakfast with a wide variety of choices. You are sure to find something for everyone here. The food is also really good. The dining hall is magnificent and huge with large windows letting in lots of natural light and can see the falls from. White table cloth dining with full table service, you serve your own food. A small setback, we had reservation and upon arrival at the appropriate time we still had to wait 20-30 minutes to be seated, also the buffet options did not get replenished often even though there was ample servers, not sure why, bowls also would be a great addition for the fruit/oatmeal bar. Overall great serve and delicious breakfast in a gorgeous old historical hotel was a great experience. I would probably come back !

I started a mild review but my wife actually reminded me of some things that make this place a bad decision. This is a bad version of a buffet without the sneeze shield. The servers were very nice and the building was incredible but the management is now corporate and rhymes with aardvark with an a in the middle. They would literally get in trouble if they gave the Wifi password out to someone spending $300 for cafeteria food because we didn 't stay in the hotel. Look at my review history. Not much triggers me but this place figured it out. Edit: As the bus driver dropped off, he asked who was eating at the restaurant. As we were walking off, he said.... Sorry in advance! . We should have listened.

There was 2 girls at the front today and the blonde one was very rude. She kept taking in everyone except us, even people without reservations. One of them was going to take us in and she did not let her. We were told it was a 30-40 minute wait and we waited about an hour and she said it was going to be 45 minutes more so we just left.
