Beautifully located hut with very inexpensive and delicious food. We were from the Buchensteinwand on the way down into the valley (about 30 minutes). The hut was well attended, but we still got a table for two adults in front of the hut in the shade. We had the snack platter for two people with a variety of bacon, roast meat, cheese, lard and hamburgers. Everything was fresh, good quality and very tasty. Very good value for the price of €16 not per person, but for the entire plate. The service tried hard and was friendly, but apparently had to look after all the guests/tables on their own. The hut can also be reached by car and you can park right in front of it. If you want to escape the tourist hustle and bustle at the Buchensteinwand mountain station and don't mind hiking a few steps towards the valley, you will find a quiet, beautiful alternative with great value for money here. A really nice Alm to stop off. You can go up both on foot and by car. From Fieberbrunn it takes 1.5 hours to walk with children. You could also use a stroller. The Alm itself is rustic and cozy inside. The map is manageable, but sufficient. The prices are very fair and family-friendly. I would give it an extra point for that Thank you! Unfortunately the weather was rainy so we just sat inside. When the weather is nice, it must be wonderful! From the Alm we walked another 1.5-2 hours to the Jakobskreu. Hiking poles and safe shoes are helpful here. The entire route from Fieberbrunn to the Alm and on to the Jakobskreuz is a recommended hike.
