The weather is nice so my partner and I decided to grab a bite and sit outside. Our order was over $40. While outside eating, my partner realized that the free drink was not redeemed. I said go show the text with the receipt and get the drink. The cousin of the owner saw the message and said there was nothing he could do. So, I went in after my partner with the receipt and explained that we are eating right outside. He explained that the text would need to be shown at the time of order. I said, it doesn’t say that it simply says when you order $20 or more. On principle, I could see if I came an hour later or the next day. He said it would set a precedent for other customers to which I responded it was just him and me having the conversation. In an effort to not be disruptive and disrespectful, I acknowledged his nonchalant behavior by asking for the manager or someone else and that is how I found out he was the cousin to which he added on that he has decision making privileges. He had this disgusting smirk and was dismissive “maybe next time.” No. There will not be a next time. Honestly, it was something small and he chose the wrong battle especially when we are loyal customers who spend a generous amount at this spot over several years. The food is basic and the drinks are blah but we try to patronize places during this uncertain time. We have even given tips when they weren’t even allowing people to eat in. It may just be him but it was a huge disappointment, including him sneezing in his hand while taking someone else’s order and grabbing food. Unnecessary battle. Unnecessary negative energy. Treat people better.

UPDATE: here's a pic of the drunken noodles on a plate showing the chicken and shrimp. This is my go-to place for Thai, even though it's in Hyattsville and I'm in DC. Parking is a bear early evening and gets worse the later it gets on the weekend. I do believe this place is pick-up only even though you see seating inside. That being said, the Pad Thai is excellent and sweet. Their drunken noodles has a different name on the menu and has both chicken and shrimp in it. I highly recommend this dish if you like both, and there are so many green chilies in it I needed two glasses of water. The fried vegetable rolls are good, too. I wish my picture could do the drunken noodles justice. You have to eat it to believe it.

I got the Kapow with shrimp, I ordered as a pick up. I wanted extra shrimp so it was over $30 (a bit more with tip). I really wanted extra. They only put like 10 pieces of jumbo shrimp in the entree. I know seafood can be pricey but I paid extra and tipped…C’mon The good is pretty good here though and Thai tea is always amazing! If you never tried it please get it.

Food was okay. My husband’s meal (curry) was very very sweet . Too sweet for a diabetic. They were nice enough to take the food back and replace it with something else. Decor/ambiance is not the greatest but the portions were large enough for two.
