I have been dining at Taj Bengal for 20 years, usually on a fortnightly to monthly basis, and I can honestly say, I have never had a bad meal. I have invited all of my friends and family to dine with me, and none have been disappointed - I have also recommended it to others, with glowing reports coming back to me. I have travelled through India, and find the flavours of Taj Bengal similar to those in Indian dishes - westerners like more sauce, so be it. I have a Prawn Madras, my partner has a Beef Madras, both sauces taste totally different, as all meals are made fresh. My other favourites are Vindaloo, which they do perfectly, especially when accompanied with Raita, pickles and indian salad. The Parathas are flaky, hot and fresh. Kashmiri Naan has a nice amount of fruit, but the favourite is Onion Kulcha. It's perfect everytime. The Onion and Spinach Pakoras are beautiful with an amazing side sauce - Palak Paneer and Dahl are a must to try. Over the years, I have sampled the whole menu, but the above dishes are really very special.Anyway, I have been waiting to review one of my favourite restaurants - thankyou for many years of food joy, here's to many more.

Got takeaway this evening from Taj Bengal, phone ordered around 6.20 and was told 40 minutes. Turned up at 7 and was told to wait a few minutes. Which I did happily and I left with our dinner at 8.15. The service almost non existent.Firstly the fact that I was told at 7pm I would only have to few minutes was blatantly untrue. The 12 or so people waiting should have suggested a problem to me I guess, and by about 7.30pm most were still there plus about 10 more. Secondly there would appear to be a clear order of priority - if you sit down you get a meal, if you do Uber Eats you will get a meal. Then the conventional takeaway people get a look in. And finally, with the takeaway buyers hanging around the entrance watching the Ubers come and go, the guy on the front desk disappeared and left the mumbled apologies to the two kids delivering from the kitchen. The food was excellent. The management of a busy Friday night was dreadful.

We are four friends who venture north side of Brisbane city in search of the best curry house we can find.Within our review, we consider the following as part of our overall verdict and score /5 ( 5 being best)- ambience (decor and feel if the place) -2- service (time) -2- service quality (asking for recommendations) -3- food quality (presentation, amount and meat quality) -4- curry heat and flavour -3.5- price -3- curry hangover-2.5- overall experience -3Visit the bad uncle curry club in The Gap Brisbane.Last thoughts- if you fancy a pretty bod standard curry night. This is it! Wouldn't go to impress for a date or business meet. Would say low cost or excellent value. However, the quality of food and taste was good! First round of popadoms- burnt

This restaurant looks unassuming and its location is not glamorous either, but you would be mistaken to pass it by. The service is great, the portions enough for dinner and take-away of leftovers, and the food is absolutely delicious. If you like Indian food, don't miss out on this restaurant.
