Sushi Sasabune is our go-to place for a special experience whenever my family and I visit Honolulu. It’s special not because of the ambience, but for the food. It’s all about the food: fresh, high quality seafood that melts in your mouth. Forget the soy sauce. Each presentation has been delicately seasoned and prepared. When we talk about which creation we liked best, it inevitably becomes a list, not a specific item. It’s expensive, but not for the quality you get. I will continue to dine at Sushi Sasabune whenever I visit Oahu.
This was hands down the best and most special meal of our weeks in HI for our honeymoon. (And we ate at some amazing restaurants across the food and Michelin star spectrum) We did the omakaze. I recommend this completely to anyone who likes sushi/Japanese food. The service was impeccable, the ambiance graceful, the food TRULY FANTASTIC. My husband who travels frequently to Japan claimed it one of his best meals as well. Go here, end of story!!
My favorite sushi place! Reserve bar seating for Omakase! Should probably reserve a month or more ahead of time from date you want to go.
The best meal we have had in Honolulu. The chef's creations are carefully crafted for texture and flavor. We loved it.
