This was my 2nd visit to Sumo and it was so good and in line with my last visit (Aug 2018). My husband and a friend of ours came to us for dinner before the DCI Eastern Classic at J Birney Crum Stadium. The restaurant is close to the stadium and it is BYOB (which we knew) but we forgot to bring our adult drinks. My husband left the premises after the order, and when he came back, everything was on the table before his seat. They had to reheat his soup, and the appetizer (shrimp tempura) was a little warm when he had to eat it. I had the mango chicken dinner I love, and my husband has the Sashimi dinner (always delicious and a wonderful presentation)! It would be helpful if one of the nearby liqueur shops would advertise with them. I remembered that there was a package store about Tilghman St, but my husband wasn't aware that this and the GPS wasn't coming with many suggestions. Hopefully, the lack of quantity does not cause them to close and fade. We would like to come back next year!
Decent place for a Monday night dinner. We had reservations and I was wondering why they didn’t hold a giant booth for our party of 6 when there were several with only two people in them (they hold about 7 8 people) if we go again I will request the booth. Everyone’s food was okay but we did feel rushed (it wasn’t busy lots of empty tables) and the server was not friendly at all. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt and say maybe she was having a bad day. The salad was perfect, fresh and crunchy with a very good tasting ginger dressing. My pad Thai was over sauced but the sushi presentation was beautiful and my daughter enjoyed her general tso’s chicken. First bad meal we had there. Fish was over boiled and dry. Sauce was too sharp. Vegetables not cooked enough. Very disappointed.
Superb! Fast service and incredibly fresh sushi! My favourite place in the Lehigh Valley!
