SteakClub Val Thorens

The music was good and the bar very good. Should have left it at that. Hungry after a day of skiing and upon recommendation by concierge, we went. Our waitress showed a plank of meat with a marbled rib-eye. Very tempting. Glad we weren't. Instead...we ordered a bone marrow, caesar salad, burger and sea bass. Unfortunately the dishes competed with each other for being inedible. The bone marrow was bland lacking even a decent salt seasoning; and it turned out the best dish we ordered. The Caesar salad should be against the law. A side of Romaine topped with soggy chicken slices, bereft of taste or texture and the whole thing drowned in what was more mayonnaise than Caesar dressing. We did not finish it. The sea bass described as an oriental prep was bland and overcooked to the point of being dry and chewy. I had a bite and left it. Finally the burger. How could that go wrong given the great quality of meat advertised. Well let's start with some dark brown whole grain bun generously topped with even more grains. Add an underseasoned patty, of chewy textured beef bits, and heap on some melted cheese to finish the job and voila you'll be searching for the nearest Burger King. The people were very nice and served me a top notch caipirinha so I'm sad to leave this review. But there really is no excuse to serve up such food at Trois Vallees prices.

We went here tonight because of the admirable best restaurant rating on TripAdvisor (and that we love steak) ..what a disappointment, quite simply the food was poor, what should be the star ribeye was not seasoned well, tough and a poor cut, the side...salad was a limp section of iceberg lettuce and the chips overcooked, our children did not eat their meals which is not a good sign after skiing all day. Positives were the Tiramisu dessert and the free local shots of liqueur after the bill, yay free alcohol. Restaurant decor is rustic and cosy and the staff are pleasant but it appears the kitchen and its quality control are living on past reviews, based on our experience tonight unfortunately would not recommend.

We made a reservation, but that wasn't really necessary. It was fairly quiet, due to it being a weekday in November and we came in early. The personnel was very friendly. The available meats are presented to you, so you actually know what to expect....The cuisson was perfect. The meat had a delicious grill taste. The desserts are also presented to you. Again making it clear what to expect. The Tiramisu was really good. If you are a meat lover, then this restaurant is an absolute must!

Good food. Located in the Center of Val Thorens this restaurant was full. Reservations are a good idea if you want to enjoy a meal here. Pork ribs were good. Hamburger was cold on the inside.

Visited here twice for dinner during our week trip to Val Thoren. The steaks were amazing, and the service matched! I would highly recommend to anyone that likes fresh, high quality food.
