I recently ate here with a large group of friends, and I was confident that I would like it. The parking lot was full, so I parked around the corner with no problem. The gentleman who greeted us was very kind, and our waitress was very attentive. But it went downhill from there. I was going to get fish, but when a friend said she was trying to decide between the chicken and the fish, I ordered the chicken, and she ordered the fish. Instead of fish, she was given chicken, and since everyone else had been served, she decided not to return it to the kitchen for the fish. My chicken was very dry, and kind of bland. The collard greens did nothing for me, so I stopped eating them after a few bites. The yams were extremely sweet. Since it was clear that I wasn't eating much, I ordered the sweet tea, which was actually OK. The cornbread that we were served in the beginning was very tasty, but very oily. The cost for all of this was more than $38. I thought that was crazy, but I never saw the breakdown, since the waitress just put the handheld machine in front of me and I inserted my credit card. I've had much better soul food before, and I'm afraid that I cannot recommend this place. I will note, however, that some of the people that I was with said they really liked it, even though they complained about specific dishes. I think they also really wanted to like it.
