on the search for a typical badner dining place we followed the recommendation of a secluded metzgerei and were disappointed. on a quiet Thursday we visited the recommended local key in the city of Breisach/Rhein at midday. a very friendly young host recommended us a very good white-hearted, so that we were sure, also the ordered cerebral and the Wiener schnitzel would satisfy our expectations. this was not so! the ordered salat plate consisted exclusively of leaves of the green salate without the slightest trace of a 2nd salat type or a gap of a decotomate. that the dressing of an salate plate was almost exclusively of edgy, while the 2nd plate had hardly any edgy, for that the more oil had been obtained, it was only mentioned at the rande. that no lemon slice was reached for the bright carving; more common was that for the hirschgulasch the prices offered on the menu could not be reached, because they were out in the kitchen. after a disput between the young hostess and senior chief, because the former apparently threw the stumps at the leaves of the icebergsalat too generously, we gave up disappointed. we felt relocated to the time about 30 years ago when the gastronomy in the black forest was hard at the pranger because of its tourist plate.

the outer is bodice and hardly reveals the quality that is still offered here. the restaurant is clean, the service very friendly. we prefer good German kitchen with self-made sauces and portions that do not have to hide under a hood. the grammatic is still true here. a little bit of anything you're looking for in vain. a small menu completes the impression that no fast food is served here. for many years we have been looking forward to the next visit.

the enkel has served us very friendly and courteous and the grandfather excellently cooked! an old house as I like it. one of the best carving chips so far, my companion even meant that here she would have eaten her best cordon bleu. the salat served has play up, only therefore no full score.
