An acquaintance was in our ears for many years, we should visit Marienburg. She's just like a fairy tale castle like Neuschwanstein. After all, we went. Well, not directly Neuschwanstein. Since our acquaintance comes from the area, a little local patriotism is understandable. The Marienburg belongs to the Welfen, whose current head is the famous Ernst August V. of Hanover (in the media also as a Pinkel or He does not live with his family in the castle any danger to the visitors: The castle has been one of his sons for several years. It can only be visited within a guided tour. We were guided by various beautifully equipped rooms and learned interesting details about the history of the castle and the fate of the Welfen. Even though some inventory of Marienburg was auctioned a few years ago – there is still enough furniture to look at. In winter the Marienburg is closed. The Marienburg is a beautiful, interesting castle. I can only recommend a visit.
