We stopped for a refreshment at Le Tisany. It was an unpleasant visit to say the least. No one came to our table when we sat down, we had to go inside to order which already was a hassle. The toilet was small, the toilet paper was thin and pink and there was little space to move about but it was just about large enough for me (for reference, i am 1m 68 and weight 45kg).As we were waiting patiently at the counter, a waitress came bursting through with a tray of coffees. We did not realise we were slightly in the way and instead of politely asking us to budge, she screamed “pardon!” and did the french tut tut. You would have thought we were intentionally going out of our way to be a nuisance. This was obviously not the case.We asked for a crepe with chocolate as the place was advertised as a “creperie”. The afore mentioned lady was now behind the counter was unnecessarily aggressive and said that they didn’t make crepes here as if I was supposed to know. This was followed by a french deep sigh.Once finally seated again we were asked wether we wanted some hot chocolate with our dame blanche. This was a little strange as dame blanche is always accompanied by a hot chocolate sauce. Safely assuming the mentioned sauce was a syrup, we saw fit that the traditional desert be accompanied with that. However, the waitress came to our table and to our shock we received a soup of hot chocolate (the rather milky drink) with some vanilla ice cream floating in it.Despite the shocking service, it must be mentioned that the younger waitress who asked for our healthy passes was delightful and utterly helpful.

Our first cafe visit in 6 months, coffee was great, the almond croissant was still crispy. The tarte au pomme had a lovely thin and crispy base, the fruit baked just enough to caramelise without turning into mush. Great location in the square to watch the world go by.
