Russo Estate - Table reservation

How disappointing. After recommending this to a number of friends after my first visit, we decided to make a night of it when they had a band playing (Captain Spaulding). We ate somewhere else prior, so this review is based on how they service a function only. They had a great turn out, and I know the majority of tickets were pre-purchased, so they should have been able to plan and staff for it accordingly. Unfortunately they didn't. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left after midnight, we had to join a very long line every time we wanted to get a drink. We, along with everyone else, then learned to get a few drinks when we finally made our way to the front of the line, but that really just resulted in the line moving more slowly. Rather than try to fix the problem, I think the staff basically gave up. We heard later that kitchen staff had walked out, management were getting frustrated with customers, and generally they had no idea how to service a function. I'm concerned, because I've also recommended this place to friends for Christmas functiosn - which I'm now telling them to re-think. Pick up your socks guys, this venue has such great potential - what a pity if poor management lets it down.

A great lunch visit for our group of 40 from our Probus club. Had some misgivings about how they would handle such a large group (a la carte). No need to have worried as we arranged with management to restrict the menu to a la carte lunchtime menu. Worked a treat as there was seamless service and the waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful. Drinks ordered and paid for at the bar saved sorting out the "table" bill at the end as the set price two or three course order was a standard price. Excellent idea for a group. Food was excellent as was the service. Thank you to Tony and chef John for a good job well done. The group asked me before we left when we're we coming again.

Went to lunch for a friends birthday. It was a group of about 30 people and not one of us were impressed. The meals were below average. The chicken confit was dry and the potatoes were cold/still frozen. Not all the meals were served at the same time. Myself and 2 others had to wait for our meal to be served and everyone else had finished their meal by the time our meal came. We were all very disappointed in not just the quality of the food but the service as well. Will not be recommending it or returning.

My food was lovely but it wasnt the case for all at my table. Some food was still cold and one even frozen in the middle. I believe they had their usual chef away sick and this contributed. I have been reluctant to revisit due to the issues with food. Staff were wonderful. Wine was lovely.

Nice place service was great with very friendly staff that made you feel welcomed. Food was good with good portions, save room for desert though.
