Brought my in-laws here for birthday dinner. My in-laws are the most difficult people from an eating perspective- they are very picky, some are vegetarians, some are vegans, some can't handle spice, etc., etc., etc. They were ALL happy with Ruan Thai! Plenty of different menu options and preparations. The servers were very good at helping people find the right dish and spice level. I definitely recommend Ruan Thai. I can't wait to go there again (this time without the in-laws)!
The best Thai I ever had. I've been enjoying her food in China since her days. The next generation has lost nothing!! (If you do not find a metered place on Amherst near the restaurant, parking in the garage on Amherst on the other side of the university. NOT PARK in the game in front of the restaurant. Ruan Thai can be assigned 1 spot. The other tenants have the most spots and call a tractor in the case of a hat.
Service was excellent and plenty of space to safely dine indoors. Starters and beverages came out quickly. Main courses soon followed. Overall the food was good. Definitely freshly cooked, but a bit lacking in flavor. The Pad Thai was very mild. Will be back to try a different dish.
This is the best Thai food in the area. Don't miss the Pra Goong. Other dishes are also excellent. Neither my companions nor I ever had a bad dish in this restaurant.
