The interior is elegant, nicely decorated Thai style, the greeting by the Thai lady owner definitely is non-Thai, probably she forgot her roots and culture during her stay in Germany, or the Royal in the restaurant’s name has elevated her to a rank above the customer. The seafood salad was excellent, we had asked to prepare it spicy and it was very authentic. The Japanese Maki with salmon and avocado was good, the Penang beef very tasty, the chicken dish was prepared with too much sugar and with starch even though Thai kitchen never uses starch! The noodle dish was prepared with too much sugar too but maybe we are too critical because we know how genuine Thai food tastes. The ingredients of almost all dishes were original, the portions are German size. The service was good but the arrogant Thai owner who does not know how to treat customers the typical Thai way put me off, she even pretended not to understand my Thai when I ordered a special spice, something a Thai would never do! Summarised: If you want to enjoy Thai food in Radolfzell then go there, but ignore the Thai owner.

Thai Royalty would definitely NOT come here and if so, only to ask them to change their name. But even "Peasant Thai" would not do it justice, peasants in Thailand eat better as well. We came to this place (on a Sunday, not for the midweek lunch specials) because I had read about their real authentic Thai food which I wanted to introduce my family to - but unfortunately this was not to be the case. For the most part the food was very bland and lacked all sorts of spices, especially there were no fresh herbs at all, one of the essential ingredients of Thai food. Furthermore, everything was just boiled down in soy sauce instead of being crispy wok-fried. This is often the case when the gas burners are not hot enough. There is a reason why an authentic Thai kitchen looks like a fire spitting dragon den, it's that HUGE gas burner they use - and need! Save the money and go to the local Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant instead. The food will taste the same or better.

We went there as a big group of more than ten people. We had to wait more than an hour for our food! This restaurant may have a Thai chef, but the food isn't authentic. Dishes have been tweaked to suit European expectations of how Thai food should taste like. The Thai lady owner bordered on rudeness when we asked for our food. We even had to wait more than 15min to pay the bill. This restaurant still gets an average rating from me because the food, though not genuine, tasted better than most touted 'Asian' restaurants.

I visited this restaurant many times and I have never been let down. During the busy season(s) throughout the year you have to make reservations especially if you go there in the evening. I have dined there at least 20 times and the food and service was always very good.
