Without a shadow of a doubt one of the best real ale pubs along Dal Street but also one of the most historic ,it's a pub that dates from 1726 and walking in and you can feel the history attached to this pub. It's a three roomed pub ,each room has it's own distinct character ,main drinking room is superb ,a great looking serving bar ,period features ,great furnishings and decorated tastefully throughout ,side room is narrow and very cool looking ,more a dining area ,in my opinion the Nelson Room at the rear of the pub is the most evocative and is in honour of the great admiral with painting of the great man and his ship adorning the walls ,there's also a shared courtyard out back complete with big screen to enjoy the sport ,it's just an amazing pub to chill out in. We were here on a Monday afternoon ,pub was already busy with a great atmosphere ,we sat in the Nelson Room after ordering a pint each of pale ale ,these were served in tip top condition ,we settled down and planned out the day ahead while sipping our pale ale's. Pale ale served here was exceptional ,crisp, well balanced ,hoppy ,hints of toffee and a delicious aroma and aftertaste ,hats off to the cellar person for the great condition he keeps and serves his real ale's in. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Rigby's is easy to locate along Dale Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday ,midday till 11pm. A wonderful and historic pub ,well worth seeking out if you're in the area.

Thomas Rigby's is with-out doubt one of my all-time favourite pubs and is located in an excellent area of the city centre. This is one of the best pubs in the city centre and also one of the most historic pub's and was first established in 1726. Thomas Rigby's has a multi-roomed lay-out with many interesting fixtures and feature's throughout it's historic interior. With superb seating options throughout the whole pubs interior and a superb courtyard it's a great pub to relax and unwind with a beer or one of there superb meals. This is an excellent pub to watch sport as it has numerous screen's throughout the pub interior and in the courtyard and one thing that really stand's out about this pub is the staff who are a total credit to this pub and that is why we have been visiting this place for over forty years. This was our first visit to here this year and it was really busy which is how we like pubs and bars. When we visited we had a couple of pints of O'Kell's brewery beers a brilliant cask beer from the Isle of Mann that where perfectly served and well priced. This is a fantastic pub and a pub you have to visit if you like historic pubs with bag's of character that serve superb cask ales and great meal's and above the rest there staff who are superb.Very easy to locate as this pub is only a couple of minute's away from Moorfields train station. (This is my fourth review of Thomas Rigby's) Opening Hours. Monday-Sunday-12.00-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Moorfields bus stop. Train Station. Moorfields train station.

On a really hot Thursday afternoon ,June weather is amazing at the moment my twin brother Stephen decided to have a day out in the city centre visiting the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for ,top of the list was Rigby's Pub. Established in the 1700's ,this pub is a classic British pub ,the interior is superb ,main room dominated by a cool looking serving bar ,great decor and furnishing ,there's a narrow room to the right of the pub ,more for dining and there's the Nelson Room ,this room is superb ,exposed brickwork ,an ancient fireplace ,paintings of the great admiral who lends his name to this room on the walls, there's also a shared courtyard outside which is fab ,all in all it's a great pub to chill out in. We sat inside as all outside seating was occupied ,we ordered premium ale's fro Big Bog Brewery ,served in excellent condition ,we kicked back ,chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. This ale was super tasty ,hoppy ,well balanced ,hints of caramel ,when this ale is served in pristine condition as in this pub it's such a delicious ale indeed. We both really enjoyed our ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as in every other visit to here we had a great time. Rigbys Pub is easy to locate along Dale Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till 11pm. Well worth a visit if you're in this area of the city .

Went there today for lunch with a friend. Ordered chicken burger and chips, which has been nice in last couple of visits. Today it was just a piece of dry chicken breast which, after a couple of bites, put down. Weird taste ss well. Had the chips, which were ok. Paid £10. Not worth it. Why change the way the food was before? Laziness or different chef? However, lad behind bar was great, friendly.
