My brother in law suggested this place, our first visit but hopefully not our last, enjoyed a very good meal . Started with ensalada bogavante (lobster salad Txangurro al horno (baked spider crab a local dish that I’ve enjoyed many times but this was outstanding, highly recommend it. Main course was Rodaballo for two , brother-in-law ordered Rodaballo ración ours was good but his was better, don’t know why perhaps his portion was from a much larger fish and they’re more flavorful. Wine,water dessert and coffee service staff friendly and responsive all for under 200 euros . Last but not least always read the bad reviews before going to a restaurant. The one here that was titled Expensive with no justification answered by management was the deciding factor in picking this restaurant. I would change the title to ignorant people should refrain from writing reviews about things they know nothing about.
First exploration of pintxos. Essentially seems to work like a self service restaurant, ie get a plate load with food and go to till where the food that is supposed to be hot gets taken off the plate onto a small one which goes into the microwave while you order the drinks and pay. Then the food goes back from the microwave onto your main plate with the cold stuff. The duration of drinks order and payment was apparently not long enough, that is the food just got lukewarm in the microwave; probably should have gone back to get it properly heated but ideally the person should know for how long it needs to be in. Anyway, food was alright but the speed with which empty plates were taken away suggested this was not s place to linger-just like any self service fast food outlet. Bit disappointed.
The lunch menu is very nice. Service and quality price ratio very good. Friendly personnel that have worked here for years and are looking forward for their guests to come back.
Expensive with no justification. Mediocre food. Served naked bones as traditional lamb chops... at least replaced with another dish.
