We were staying at the Krone Hotel again and hosted a family dinner in the restaurant. I had looked at the very good reviews on TripAdvisor and also local recommendation as the "top restaurant" in Dornbirn. We booked the large round table in the corner which is ideal for a family or business dinner. The ambience is very nice and there is no annoying Muzak. The restaurant became quite busy but the noise level remained low and did not interfere with conversation. I had a variation of Wien Schnitzel, everyone else had the special for the day which was grilled salmon with grilled trout, potatoes and fresh vegetables. Everyone declared their fish dish to be excellent. My Wien Schnitzel was perfectly fine but the fish dish would have been preferred. The wine was very reasonably priced as were all the menu choices. The service was excellent and English is spoken. Highly recommend and to book in advance as the restaurant is busy.
Krone is a 4**** Hotel a little outside of the center. The streets around it are busy and the part of town is a little worn-down. But none the less the Hotel Krone is one of the best in town with a fine mix of old and new. They recently renovated their (winter)gardens and also the inside is very nicely done.The food they serve is always outstanding. They have various dishes with fine sidedishes and delicious sauces. It is sure one of the more exclusive kitchens in town. Its also very great for al kind of events. Marriage, christening, ... I had my graduation party there.
there are two restaurants, one more rustic "Stube" and one white table cloth-type of restaurant. the menu seems to be the same though. both offer solid traditional austrian and local fare with some modern twists. very solid for business or leisure. good place if in need for a good meal in Dornbirn
It is a very good place to stay or just have a fine meal. A few Generations of the Rhomberg Family have successfully served the Dornbirn Business Population .It is geared up for Tourism and only the more effluent locals would go there. You always pay a premium for Snob Value.
