Restaurant Hof Immenhorst

We are staying at the Freisenhof Hotel near the airport in Hamburg for the fifth time. We noticed this time they have a restaurant they recommend. When we drove up we realized it was a huge building half interior horse riding area and half...restaurant, with big windows where one can dine and view the riders. there is nothing shared with the stable except the view. Or one can sit in the garden room which is all glass with a view to the pretty grounds. It really is like a private club. We tried it last night, went back again tonight for my husband's birthday, and will return again tomorrow night for our last night in Hamburg. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Generous main dishes are generally less than euros. From the complimentary appetizer right through to the dessert everything was perfect. We especially liked the duck tender, crispy skin, and on a bed of creamy sauteed cabbage.......excellent. We also had the steak, the rouladen and the zurich veal all of them top quality. Even the rolls were excellent. Our compliments to Herr and Frau Berg for the way they run this excellent restaurant. They take the time to make sure their customers are well served and are very hospitable. A real hidden jewel in Norderstedt Hamburg near the airport

My family was staying near Hamburg for one evening before catching a flight to Greece. We wanted a good German meal, but were surprised to find that most restaurants in the area are Greek. After reading TA reviews, we decided to try Restaurant Hof Immenhorst....So glad we did! It was lovely! The menu and the blackboard specials board were in German only, but the owner I assume spoke fluent English. He came to our table to help with our selections and check on us periodically. The food was fabulous! Asparagus are in season, so several menu items highlighted the fresh vegetable. Everything we tried was great! We tried the wienerschnitzel, the veal in white wine cream sauce and two asparagus entrees. Even the coffee was perfect! Highly recommend

We had lovely meals with very good wine selection, price are above average but worth every cent. The offerings coming with Asparagus are excellent and highly recommended

Great north german food in a weird location horse stables. A bit more upscale than most restaurants in the area, e.g. for a special occasion or a family event

Ate here often during my week stay excellent food with homely atmosphere, if you are a strangher to North German cooking then this is the place to try it out
