Made a reservation as we thought in high season it would be busy - which it was. Particularly impressive the prompt and helpful communication to confirm. Ate in the outdoor courtyard - lovely on a warm evening. Opted for the €26 menu and it offered excellent value for money. The camambert starter was delicious - although the other choice, the terrine was a bit bland and needed more a flavoursome chutney. The mains - steak and duck were accompanied by lovely vegetables - which makes a nice change for France. The only quibble was having asked for medium, the steak was very rare. Cheese course - nothing special but perfectly nice. The one pudding of a deconstructed apple tart was delicious. The other, which was a rather strange and ornate looking cake with pistachios and raspberries was too rich for me - although it looked lovely. Service was a bit slow but they were very busy. Food generally a little under seasoned, and a request for salt arrived in the form of a rather dilapidated plastic salt cellar with the shop label on. In this part of the world a decent sea salt is not expensive and would have made all the difference. Certainly worth returning to.

We had dinner at this restaurant on a hot July evening. We had an outside on-street table so our dogs could be with us. We didn't realise but there was a larger outside area round the back accessed from an alleyway. That would have been even better. We chose the limited menu - a starter and main course. This was accompanied by a carafe of wine. Both courses were very good. Service could have been a little quicker. Good fresh bread was served and replenished between courses.

But this restaurant really deserves it. Had the €26 menu and everything was really good. My maigret de canard was excellent and my friend said his steak was also. I'd not realised that cheese was included so four courses, all very good, for €26. We sat out front as everything else was fully booked so definitely worth making a reservation.

I spoke to the owner Chef before we booked and he made an absolutely lovely vegan meal for me, with roasted aubergine, delicious salad with avocado and apple, wonderful to get this in a small town in France. Make sure you talk to the chef, the manager seemed a bit put out by the fact that I wasn't going to eat any animal products.
