We visited this restaurant specifically because the reviews said they had fantastic sauerbraten. We arrived a little before pm and stood in the entry for about minutes before we were even acknowledged. Finally a waiter came over and spoke to us in German...and when we asked if he spoke English he merely waved us to follow and gestured at empty tables and said we could sit at any one. He then went to the next table, which was a large group of about and took their drink order, never even looking our way. Another waiter came by with little paper menus in English and dropped them on the table and walked away. The original guy then came back to the large group and gave them their drinks along with large leather bound menus which also included dinner specials. He then went to a different table of about men who were already eating and took another drink order from them and then went to a table with women and cashed them out. He went back toward the bar and brought another round of drinks to the table of men, he checked on the large group again and left. He walked back and forth no less than times between those tables, never even glancing at us. After about minutes, we were just going to leave and he came by and tossed a basket of bread on the table and walked away and I saw him gesture to the other waiter that he should take our order. I asked him if they had wheat beer and he seemed as though he had no idea what I was talking about, so I just pointed to a beer on the menu. My wife asked if they had sauerbraten because it was not on the menu and again he acted as though he had no idea what we were talking about, then he said “no, just what’s there.” I ordered the jaegerschnitzel and my wife ordered beef cheeks in red wine. The food came and it was decent, but so far the attitude practically ruined the meal. Then the original waiter and a waiter brought the food to the large group. There was soup, plates including red cabbage where there was none on the English menu, and other items that we clearly didn’t have access to, like spaetzle, other types of beef, noodles and different types of potatoes. After eating, we didn’t bother even asking about dessert. No one came to the table even once to see how everything was or if we needed anything. I got the attention of the original waiter to ask for the check and yet another waiter came and asked how the food was, but not if we wanted anything else. Finally, a woman came over with our check and cashed us out. As we left, all waiters and the woman were standing at the bar near the entrance and not a single one said a word. This restaurant clearly only wants a local clientele or German speakers. We’ve been here in Germany for nearly a week, first spending days in Berlin, and here in Hannover and up until this meal, every single person has been friendly, accommodating and even if they didn’t speak English, they were just warm and lovely people. We’ll be leaving Hannover tomorrow, but rest assured, if we ever return, Riemanns Eck will not be on our itinerary.

Serves delicious German dishes and the Roulade is a highlight. The Schnitzel was okay but there are better places for that. In general the food is pretty good but for the service there is room for improvement. No warm welcome when you enter the restaurant...and it takes time till the notice that you wanna order. Since the meals are superb I give it stars but please better service the next time!

When my friend complained about his food not living up to the description in the menu. The chef finally came out after discussions with the server. He was aggressive rude and dismissive. No compensation was offered. He basically said eat what your given and...like it.
