We speak no Spanish and Leo our waiter spoke no English. We pointed at random things on menu. He brought us some fried empanada like things with potatoes and meat. We ordered the soup because everyone else was eating it. And we got a fried fish with plantain, rice and beans and four beers. It was 27,000. A steal. We paid 150,000 night before at La Cevicheria. It was a great lunch. Not fancy, but we felt relaxed and like we were actually in Colombia. I thought it was clean and wasn't worried. I was able to use restroom. It is simple. I have been to taqurieas at home that look way more questionable.

good cheap corriente meals served here. I paid 8000 pesos for grilled beef with rice, a bit of pasta, and salad. hardly cutting edge, but good and wholesome. who needs cutting edge, anyway? we found you can fill your belly quite cheap in Colombia. the centro of catagena is well suited to provide good food to the frugal. it can seem that budgeters are priced out of the center on the food scene. just look around, and you will find food that is simple and filling...and good! we hope that this review will lead you here to this place.

Sometimes we find local gems, this being one of them. Looks like a shop, perhaps can also be a bar, and during the day they also serve lunch. No frills, super value meals. We spent 30,000 Pesos (10€) on 2 lunch sets (soup + main + sugar cane drinks) and 2 beers. Both the chicken and fish (mojarra) were tasty. Hint: chicken always safer than (normally extra thin) beef (carne) on such sets at these prices.

If you want a cheap meal and beer, but don't care about service with a smile, this is a great place to eat and have a beer. Food ok, beer cold. You can get out of there with a meal and a beer for under US $4. Waiter was a bit grumpy, but that's ok. No AC but on a corner with a nice breeze most of the time.
