Red Lion - Grantchester

Initially they didn't have our booking recorded but the place wasn't busy and they gave us a table. It was in a dark corner with some loud lads sitting next to us and right next to the entrance. I asked if we could have a different table and they moved us inside the restaurant with a much better ambiance. From there the service was great, the food was good and the bill alright. I think that service was outstanding and food was served very quick. A big difference in the dishes, for example one of the starters (crispy duck) was very well presented and abundant while the other (whitebait and calamari) was quite small and lacking in presentation. Said that, both were very tasty Overall I think it's a bit pricey for what is offered, but given the huge demand for the place I don't expect this to change any time soon. It was a good experience but nothing remarkably good nor bad. I might come back or I might not, definitely I don't feel the urge to repeat.

The pub was calm and quiet . We were shown to our table and drinks order taken. Good service good food good ambiance and we will certainly be back. Good to see that they welcomed dogs too as we will bring our little one next time. Can’t fault it!!

Food and service excellent. We were a party of seven, all meals arrived together. Covid friendly
