Went there recently. Just got a 1/2 pound of brisket. Or I should say I paid for a 1/2 pound of brisket and got something closer to .35 or .4 pounds at the very most. How do i know it was plenty light? I 've eaten EXACTLY THIS at dozens of TX bbqjoints and never had a 1/2 pound serving this small. The sauce is not very good. It just tastes like sweetened ketchup withsome spices and chili added. Not good, but it would pass for an authentic TX sauce. The $22 price tag for a light 1/2 poundof brisket is quite outrageous too get real. Over priced sides as well, wont be back. On a positive note. The brisket wasactually quite good also, and on par with some of the best I 've had in TX not that its difficult to smoke a high qualitybrisket. If you 're a foreigner and only traveling to LA but have a craving for real American BBQ i would go here for a taste it 's far better than any other BBQ place i 've had on the West Coast.

Very nice restaurant. The food is very good but the reason for my so so review is that the prices are a bit too high. One item in particular, the brisket sandwich, the price on the menu on the wall is listed as $19.99 but my bill showed that the guycharged me $20.99 per sandwich (I bought 2) and when I mentioned it he said it was a mistake but he never tried to give me backthe price difference and I wonder how many people they have overcharged. And also the guy told me that they have an updated menuonline but I never found it. I?m not going back to this place.

This place ain't been the same since the owner passed away. Way over priced, portions are noticeably smaller, and flavor ain't what it used to be here. The meat is actually dryer with new meat they use. I started coming here around 4 years ago. Sad tosay, after 2 disappointing meals here I won't be coming back.
