A Birmingham original. A five points south landmark along with Raymond's and Charlemagne. The Rich Man's po boy with olive salad is as good as it gets and is easily enough for two. There's also a little Rich Man or just a regular size po boy if you're dining alone. There's plenty of full dinners and salads if, for some reason, you're not in the mood for the best deli sandwich in Birmingham. Still family owned and still at the original location. Authentic blues atmosphere that has evolved over the decades. Step into Ranelli's and you're back in the early 70's. Bear is still at Alabama, Shug is still at Auburn, and the Plaza is still behind the Highland Western.
Hit upon Ranelli’s by accident and so glad we did! I had the days special and my hubby had a sausage sub! Delicious!! So happy we found a local place! Recommend to locals and anyone visiting!
I love this place. Just wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Rick is the Man. Go see him for the best food in Birmingham.
ordered a Ruben and the pasta salad, I didn't mind the olives, and I don't even like olives.
