Really terrible service. Went for dinner on a Tuesday night and when seated the table was sticky, the glasses for gin had sticky stems and I received a glass for water which has lipstick on it. Really disappointing fhat when we asked for help ordering...on the website which we were required to order on we were told to just keep trying and didn’t receive any help. I had to wait until the rare occasion when a waiter passed our table to ask for water and fresh cutlery after our starters. Finally, when the food came, I had ordered goujons which were pink on the inside so couldn’t eat them. Nobody and to ask if the food was ok or we required anything else.
The service and quality has done way done the hill past few months. Hardly any staff on and what they had not a brain between them. After getting main course and waiting ages, having asked three different waitresses we eventually got our sides. When I...complained they sent the so called manager who was not a bit interested. Chef needs to get his act together and think some variety to accompany main course. Putting two veg the same on the plate is hardly good enough for the drastically increased prices.
Won’t be back, service was terrible not one member of staff appeared to care. Even the lady walking about with “manager” on her badge. Very limited selection of bottled drinks available. Had to ask numerous staff members walking past for drinks order/ food order/...extra drinks/ water/ desserts. The only thing they seemed to be quick to do was come for prompt payment before we got the drinks& food. The port has plenty of other nice restaurants who I’m sure would be glad of the business.
Visited here with my Italian friend for lunch today. Decided to have the lasagna...big mistake...it was TERRIBLE! The “lasagna” was a very flavourless cheap mince with pasta sheets and a sauce on top that was certainly not a Bechamel sauce. So much grease...absolutely no flavour...such...poor quality....an embarrassment to call it lasagna! Obviously the Wine Bar no longer cares what they serve their customers.
