I went to the hotel for lunch with a group of 20. The staff were very pleasant and the food did not take long to arrive. the quality of the meals was very good - my roast pork was succulent and accompanied by roast potato and veg with a spicy apple sauce. The size of the meals was not large but at a cost of $9.90 very good value. We did not however receive a bread roll and when we asked about it were told it takes awhile to thaw and heat the rolls. As we had been pre-booked I would have expected the rolls to be ready. The highlight for our group was seeing the owner (we assume) walking around with a large green parrot on his shoulder. The hotel is very old and in an easy to reach part of Port Adelaide. I would return for another meal.

Haven't been here for a while, but since the birk' going downhill, time to change pubs. The place was empty bar the staff and another table of diners. The $9.90 menu was fulfilling and selected the Caesar Salad and a Barramundi (even on Tuesday) dish. Both were very good meals and the Caesar was well balanced. Had some drinks with lunch and still had change from $50.I think the best thing about lunch was that it was not overloaded and allowed us to continue the day's business effectively.I am sure we will be coming again.

What a gem. The walls are covered in historic photos and memorabilia of the past. The manager took us down to the cellars and tunnels under the hotel - amazing. The food was a huge surprise. We opted for the carvery buffet. The selection of meats, fish, salads and deserts was reasonably priced and more importantly, really tasty. We'll be back again

Great service from the bar manager Vince and Deb was our waitress. It was quick service. Excellent steak sandwiches and the chocolate milkshake was great!
