I was a recent visitor to Toronto and my long-time friend who lives there, whom I have not seen for 7 years, suggested we have lunch at this restaurant. I learned during lunch that she has not become vegetarian, so I am not sure why she suggested this place other than apparently, this is a trendy spot in Toronto.Trendy aside, you need to know that the value for money at this restaurant is absolutely abysmal and the food we had was barely average. The price of about $10 for 6 tiny - and I mean tiny - pieces of what I think was advertised as deep-fried cauliflower "tots" (but there was no way to figure out what we were actually served), is absolutely atrocious. We also ordered pizza which I think had cashew cheese on it - whatever that is - and Thai noodle salad which was tolerable but completely uninteresting and only vaguely resembling Thai food.My advice is to STAY AWAY from Planta and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. One doesn't need to eat the **** sold at this restaurant to eat healthy, tasty and nutritious food - and I'm not sure that anything Planta has on their menu is healthy, tasty or nutritious and their so-called food is certainly not worth the value for the prices they charge.Save your money and eat elsewhere - like at home!
