For a short stay in Cologne for a concert, this restaurant was recommended to us. So we are there without any idea what there is for food and drinks. The driveway went smoothly, the first problem was for us to find a parking lot, as the road is completely covered. However, there is a narrow entrance through which it goes into an inneyard where there should be apparently customer parking. Unfortunately, the car here must be correspondingly narrow, which most recent cars are not. The service was friendly and welcoming and the ambience was really beautiful. Almost like going to a small pizzeria in Italy. Whether pasta or pizza, celiac or aperol spray everything is available in good choice. The food came quite flott, before you got a bit of garlic bread and Bruscetta, which cost no extra charge unlike in Italy. I ate a pasta that was really excellent, at the side table there were beef and tuna caappachio, which also looked really good. The food is also really good at price and also drinking costs no anger price. My conclusion is definitely who is in Cologne should also make a trip to Mare e Monti

Lovely little Italian eatery from pizza, pasta to schnitzel and steak. Bufala Mozzarella and Tomato Soup are always fresh and good starters. Spaghetti Bolognese is the best in town (according to my teenager) and most importantly, Michele, the owner and master of ceremonies, is always...there to greet you with his warm, gentle smile. He offers many daily specials, too, and accomodates special requests. When full, the service can be a bit slow but we are always very satisfied. Overall atmosphere is far more pleasing than the other Italian restaurant on the bahnstrasse and that has eveything to do with Michele.
