We stayed two days in Saverne and we took the breakfast twice. The cafe was very good, but the pastries were exceptional. The various tartelettes (especially franboise) andthe chocolates (especially eclair) were "Il fine del mondo". My wife bought the book of recipeswritten by the Maitre Patissier Mr Eric Haushalter. I hope she will be successful...
After a heavy evening meal, we opted for an easy French breakfast. We ordered coffee and croissants (6 EUR). Upon passing the counters full of French pastries, we left with a bag of sweet treats :-) The place was full of locals which is always a good sign.
We have never actually sat down to eat here but have visited at least 4 times to buy either baguettes, quiches, pies or gateaux. All are really nice especially the gateaux. With cakes this good we will need to do a lot of walking to keep our weight down!
