Adjacent to the glorious State Theatre, Parlour Lane Roasters is a gothic cafe with Art Deco features in the beautiful QT Sydney boutique hotel. While the cozy, little cafe in the CBD may be eye-catching, its coffee may be a little disappointing. The microfoam or little velvety bubbles produced by the steaming milk was thicker and there was a distinct layer between the espresso and the foam. The coffee was also scalding hot which resulted in a flat white which was bitter than usual.
Located on the ground floor of the QT Hotel this little cafe has an amazing feel. The decor is top notch however the food offering is relatively simple. It's perfect if you are after a coffee and even a place to sit back and work from for the day.
Having been here a number of times, even staying here at the QT Hotel which is part of the same building - I've always had mixed experiences.
This has been my go-to restaurant in Sydney, always reliable, and i'm devastated by my recent experience to celebrate a birthday.
