The best part of this restaurant is its location. We had just finished the hike to the peak of Mt. Teide from the top cable car station so it was nice to stop and relax with some wine. Unfortunately the restaurant didn't open until 6:30 so we enjoyed our wine on the patio and took in the sunset over La Ruletta at 6:24 since the time change was the day before. The meal was very Canarian. The grain bread was AMAZING! We were given an amuse bouch which was a nice touch as were fresh plates and special utensil swaps for each course like a fancy restaurant despite being in our hiking pants and boots. Most of the staff were very friendly and it seemed like Marc Antonio was as well but he was affecting grumpy. I really enjoyed the banana beignets dipped in hot chocolate! I'd skip the fish croquettes not really hot and missing fish.... DH enjoyed the shrimp and avocado and I learned to never order gofio! I had added that it was our 30th Anniversary when I made the reservation and they kindly gave us each a glass of cava with dessert. Overall it was really perfect for where we were even if the food wasn't spectacular.
The food we had was actually pretty good and service OK. Except the point-blank refusal to give us any tap water to drink! A lot of places will pressure you to buy bottled water, which is terrible for the environment but good for their profit, but this is the first time I have ever met with a point-blank refusal – if you do not pay for bottled water, you cannot have water at all!
Been waiting for 30 mins for someone to serve us, we can’t just leave as we are on a bus trip, completely ignored by the waiting staff. Tried to order at the bar but told they’d come to the table. But they didn’t.. Can’t tell you what the quality is cause we’ve not had any food. However scenery is amazing!!!
Pleasantly surprised given some of the negative reviews. The food is competently prepared and not too expensive. Beautiful views of the Teide. Service is a bit old fashioned and not the most refined, but adequate for a nice meal after/before visiting Teide.
