Visited the Somme battlefield last weekend and on each of the three days I was there I enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at the Old Blighty. Easy parking behind the tea room. Run by an English couple, Alison and Jon, you can be assured of a warm welcome and good grub to be accompanied by a nice cold beer or a proper cup of tea.I know Alison would love to provide home cooking and baking however her French cafe licence does not permit her to "fabricate dishes" which apparently includes baking cakes. This said she does offer a wide range of meals, baguettes, baked potatoes, cakes, confectionery and ice creams.Always worth a visit and I just love all the Great War artefacts that adorn the premises.

We fell upon this lovely little cafe by accident when we went to visit Lochnagar crater, locally known as the Grand Mine. Its run by an English family and they offer excellent food prepared fresh at very good value. There's plenty of parking round the back and the premises are adorned with artefacts from the war. A lovely little cafe.

A little bit of England in the middle of the French battlefields! After a very hot day tramping about it was great to be able to sit down to a cream tea under the shades in the garden and get your strength back! Some interesting items in the collection inside and a must stop for refreshments if you’re visiting thee Lochnagar Crater!
