Nicolas - Table reservation

We had a meal this evening . I had an Entrecote rare which was served rare and very good indeed. My wife had a small filet steak. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. Though we each had only six small fried potatoes, chips, also very good. Service was very abrupt though from a not very friendly waiter. Asked for water and given a litre... Far too much for two just a nonsense for two adults Felt like asking for the top since could have taken to our room. Not one to recommend for friendly service.

I went there because it looked nice and relaxed, and there were lots of locals inside. The locals turned out to be a little cold, and not particularly friendly (not here in particular, to be fair, but most other places in Bilbao), but the little pintxos were delicious! If you don't know exactly what something is, just order it anyway it's bound to fabulous, and in the unlikely event that it's not, and that it's made from something unspeakable, you'll have a decent story to tell!

After entering we were served by the most unwelcoming barman, but we were hungry so decided to stay for a little while and move on. We actually had a couple of Tapas so interacted with other members of staff who were equally grumpy, so as soon as we finished our drink we left and found a much more welcoming bar/restaurant just further along the road.

My 1st week in Bilboa and I'm blown away with the quality of bars and prices. Sorry to have to say but we had one poor visit and paid the most we have all week. Loads of better places in my opinion.

Had several half portion raciones. Good enough. Cheese ice cream was weird but interesting. Expensive for what it was.
