Alleged by the groupon proposal: "Homard,Saint jacques grilled à la plancha, frites à will et verre de vin pour 2 au new globe since 39,90 € .value 80 €,remise 50 %,économie 40,10 €", we wanted to test this "restaurant brothian de standing, rendez vous des gourmets",proposing a "repas outstanding",... The new globe is actually a coffee, well located on Gambetta Square, followed by a young clientele and driven by a team that is just as much. The welcome is nice. If the coffee with its terrace is pleasant, the restaurant located upstairs is much less. A few tables, dark colors, a decor leaving no memory if it is its sadness. As for the hay meal of standing and exceptional!! It is a plate (normal size), including some salad leaves (well seasoned and good), some fries (grasses and mules), a lobster (which had to greatly reduce to cooking because, in 3 bites, the "500 to 600 g". advertised are absorbed), surmounted by 3 unhappy shells Saint James. We are really far from the beautiful photos of the ad! and given the speed of service, (which tries to make you accept aperitif, dessert and coffee). everything is obviously well prepared in advance. The glass of wine comes out of a bottle of low-end bordeaux for 40 € and even 20 €, with the help of mr Picard, no matter who must be able to support the comparison. So we were very disappointed and will be most circumspected in the groupon vis that should better monitor what it proposes.

We had been strolling around the city for a few hours and needed somewhere where we could sit down and have some lunch. We checked out Le Globe and found it delightful. It's slightly off the main tourist trail so beer prices weren't eye-wateringly pricey. The staff were charming and patient as we ordered in our basic French. The baguettes were not only huge and delicious but very fairly priced. The beer was cold and wet! This bar could have been in any city or town in France, any time over the last 40 years. The regulars were friendly, pointing out where to go to pay the bill. Our only disappointment is that we didn't have time on a short visit to return. If you want to experience a traditional, classic French bar, Le Globe is a must! Highly recommended.

Apart from not being able to prepare a proper Gin Tonic, the waiting staff makes up fantasy prices, in our case charging €15 instead of €10 for a Hendrick‘s G T. Even if spirit and tonic are charged separately, the price would only be €13.90. The G T was tiny and super thin an absolute joke. This place is to be avoided by all means!

We visited a couple of times but for drinks only A short distance from our hotel staff were very friendly and selection of drinks at reasonable prices Nice to be able to sit outside if you want We tended to be there around 11am and it was certainly busy with locals
