Moon's Sushi - Table reservation

Went in for lunch with my partner after reading through the reviews on trip advisor!however after the experience we had today, we will never be back and telling everyone we know not to eat at this establishment.We ordered an entree, sushi and also a main chicken katsu with rice. When our main dish came out it was, it looked less than desirable and tasted disgusting. I don't use this term lightly. The chicken was tough and grisly, it's clear they use cheap chicken meat to cut corners with the dish/ it was like eating rubber. It had this weird kewpie mayo sauce like substance on the top but it was melted and lacked any type of flavour, nearest resemblance would be a glue like substance. In essence the dish was a flop and given it was $20 we are pretty unhappy.We spoke to the waiter and asked if we could get another sushi dish due to the fact we weren't going to eat the dish they had served and explained the above. This caused a massive scene in the kitchen where the chefs began arguing amongst one another (not in English) then one by one went up to the dish and started trying the food we had sent back. At this point one of them just began staring at me and the table. The whole situation was pretty uncomfortable and made me just want to leave. They agreed to provide a replacement dish however when it was brought out the waiter stood there and stated "the chefs tried your meal that you sent back and said there was nothing wrong with it, so i will need to speak with them about whether they are going to charge you for the original and the replacement". I have never experienced such appalling service is my life. Not only is it disgusting that they tried food we had partially attempted to eat (this probably says a lot about their hygiene standards or lack of in the kitchen) but then to come out and challenge consumers who are clearly dissatisfied with a meal after already agreeing to replace it and basically imply we were lying - is just ridiculous.We just wanted to get out of there, the whole experience was unpleasant. Upon leaving they charged us the original amount of the main dish even though the replacement dish they offered was significantly cheaper.I've had better tasting sushi and service at the food court in Wollongong and won't ever be back. I would advise others to go elsewhere if they value service and general respect/ human decency.

I don't think Japanese people run or cook in this restaurant. Weird sauce on the sushi. Cook didn't cope with our request for half fresh and half grilled. Not licensed. Would not recommend.

First time here. Delicious, fresh, decorative and generous portions. Will be back for sure. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Thank you to David and his wonderful and friendly team.

My experiences to date have been very pleasant with a variety of fresh sushi options to choose from. If you are craving sushi and are in the area, this is a must visit!

Their rice paper rolls are different to the usual... Definitely worth a try. Edamame beans are always a go to
