Mist - Table reservation

When I visit Melbourne, I usually stop by Gold Leaf for a Yum Cha lunch with family. For the value you are paying, the quality of the food and service is average. I understand the location of the restaurant is in a premium spot and this reflects in the pricing compared to other Yum Cha restaurants however this would be acceptable if the food and service was of high quality. The major downfall of Gold Leaf is inconsistency - there are times where my experience is amazing and times it is disappointing. I would also recommend you keep an eye out on your sheet to ensure the staff are ticking the correct category for your meal. This can be very tricky for non-Chinese and first-time goers and the result can be surprising at the end of your meal. Overall, Gold Leaf still delivers the Yum Cha experience but not as great as other places.

GOLD LEAF comes with a great reputation but it was a major failure for Chinese New Year dinner. What should have been a marque night for this restaurant, it did not manage the pressure well. The service was sloppy, the wrong meals were brought to the table and the different courses where sometimes average and occasionally poor e.g. abalone liked a canned quality.Given the top dollar paid for Chinese New Year dinner, even though it is not a Public Holiday that demands a loading of staff salaries, this was a poor effort from GOLD LEAF

Agree with recent reviews - poor service. We were put on a table at the back of the room furtherest from the kitchen and by the time the carts came past they were empty. Disappointing and will never be back.

Pretty good food and service though the sprukers were a little pushy. Pasta was pretty good but not exceptional.

Poor service. We are not going back. It took 2-hours for our order to come. My grandson is so hungry.
