The food came a close second to the service when we had dinner here. That is no criticism of the food because the service was truly exceptional. We opted for the Suprise menu (you are not told in advance what you will be served) and we took the extra step in having each course wine matched for us. What followed was an absolutely first class dining experience. The food was thoughtfully put together, was beautifully cooked and reflected the great ingredients available from the local area. The wine offerings were a combination of Swiss and French If I was to look to find something to criticise it would be the serving of French wine when there are so many good Swiss options available. The highlight was however the quality of the service which could not be faulted in any respect. Restaurants are typically only as good as their staff and the young woman looking after us was one of the best we have ever encountered.
Great food, excellent service. The outside tables that they set up on the street in the evening can't be booked, but if you show up early enough, you can grab a table and enjoy the ambiance. It had filled up completely by 7, and some tables were empty again at 7:30. They actually took a table form inside it set it up outside for a group of 6! Absolutely the friendliest service from any Swiss restaurant I've ever been to.
We ate here a few weeks ago and had a wonderful meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the street entertainment (music) while eating. The owner helped us with the German menu which was really helpful to us. The fillet was cooked exactly right and so was the lamb. We had a chocolate dessert that was to die for. The wine list was extensive and we settled on a very nice Bordeaux. We highly recommend this restaurant!
ONe of The best restaurants in Berne if you search for some gourmet food in Switzerland. We had starter chèvre chaud and as main course the beef fillet and the lamb saltimbocca which they had exquisite taste!
