Husband?s 50th birthday dinner party 4/9/22 We recently celebrated my husband?s 50th birthday and chose this Mesita location for a couple of reasons. First, we had been there before and knew the food was great, all fresh and really tasty with plenty of options. Nothing can beat a fresh guacamole with home made chips. Also, because this location has an area for private parties. This room is really nice and it has its own bathroom which was a plus. We received many complements from the guests in regards to the great food and the service. I was pleasantly surprised with a menu with my husband name and everything. Shot outs to one of the manager Polo who recommended the place, Jenna for all the help making the reservation and arrangements. Most importantly a big thank you to the staff present on that day. From the moment we stepped there to decorate and set the surprise for my husband, everyone was so helpful, especially our waitress May and the manager Gerry. The cake was delivered there and they took care of it for us. Also made every effort to set everything up and keep a nice surprise for my husband. Mesita Rockville Center exceeded all my expectations. Jenna was not wrong when she said that we will be taken care of there. Thank you all so much for making this day extra especial!
We dined here today for an extremely late lunch or could be an early dinner given we were all stuffed at the end. Friendly and welcoming restaurant. Good service for a Saturday afternoon. Upbeat and lively ambiance. The guacamole was tasty and the chips had great crunchy texture. Somewhat addictive chips. The food is mediocre after receiving feedback from everyone at our table. The shrimp ceviche appears to be packaged shrimp put together with tomatoes, onions and lime juice. We?ve had award winning ceviche and this won?t make the cut. Mojitos were delicious, flavorful and smooth hence the four stars. There?s a service charge when using credit card and overall the price for such simple food is somewhat higher than expected when compared to Dos Caminos, Rosa Mexicano and Mexicue. I would return for the cocktails, chips and guacamole.
since the pandemic, my spouse and I were at this place at various locations. overall the ambiente is beautiful, and in the right night the dj will move her body even if they don't dance. eating is very good for what it is, a mix of Southwest American Mexican foods. pick up the fajitas, pick up the chorrasco, and get the guacamole, highly recommended. the drinks, are in order, not a wow, but they try different recipes to change it from time to time. I just wish they had a better choice of beer, a bottle or exhaustion. the service is very good, and there is no moment where someone will not ask if there is something they need. that may be a bit much for some, but it's better than other places where you can't find a server or busboy. beautiful place for a Sunday afternoon in the afternoon.
The food was delicious. A little expensive. It was a little dark and had to use a flashlight to read menu. Reservation is best, but not required, but it will be filled quickly. I had leftovers for lunch. Beautiful size components.
