It's the third time we didn't get the money or the right money back, when we paid with bigger notes. Last Time it was more than CHF80.-- we didn't get back. It can happen once or twice, but why always to their favor. Therefore, we won't go back. Also the food quality used to be better, especially the homemade chips basket, they used to have earlier. Prices have gone up in general, therefore, it became a no go for us. We had friends from all over Switzerland and from abroad we recommended this as a unique pub to, but they also don't join us anymore. Chris & Kim, Switzerland/Australia
Visited after a long hike and we were all very hungry. The beers were cold and lovely.The chicken curry was way too salty, and had been boiling too long. The oil to make the chips needs to be replaced asap. The pie with guiness however had a nice flavor to it and had potential to be really good if the meat had been done for another 20 min
Basically the McArthurs is a standard pub and would you be in Great Britain, it would be nothing special. But in Lenzburg, as it is the only pub, you will like it. Nothing is missing: TV screens with sports on, tab beer and cider, can be loud and funny but also quiet and pathetic as life...
I have frequented this place several times and tried various different dishes. Their curries are very good as well as other things on the menu. Would recommend this to anyone.
