My partner and I had been looking forward to coming here for my Birthday lunch, but sadly it did not live up to our expectations and now we know why there was only us and one other table there at lunch time on a Thursday when every other cafe and resturant on Crown street looked busy and full. The decor was colourful and fun with cool murals on the wall and although the waiter smiled and nodded a lot it did not justify him asking for a tip as we were paying for our meal. The potato sliders were tasty although a bit small to pay $13 for two. The dosas on the other hand were huge and there was 2 in a serving - we would have appreciated our waiter telling us how large this dish was as we would have only ordered one entree not two. The dosa bread had a nice texture in parts although it was so drenched in oil we had to use our serviettes to wipe all the excess oil off however the filling of spiced potatoes tasted great and so did the accompaniments. The butter chicken was one of the best I've ever tasted but the bowl was tiny and there was only about a small palm size amount of chicken and at $25 we felt it was way overpriced. The dishes took way too long to come out, we wouldn't have minded so much in the evening over some wine but an hour to bring our 2 entrees and a main was way too long and I guess that's why nobody is there at lunch.Disappointing as it has the potential to be so much better.

Love the atmosphere of the restaurant as soon as you run in there, you can smell and feel India. The food was good, the sauce of butter chicken was very rich, served with her homemade naean, Probbs was my favorite dish. The corn was also full of taste, the pancake could be a bit tired, but I love potatoes ???? And the sauce on the side, with which it just raised the court. Overall, the food enjoyed.

What a great find. A funky Indian diner in Surry Hills. Forget your traditional Indian rsstaurant this has contemporary written all over it. Beautiful bright Indian art adornes the walls. The staff are attentive and the service quick. Let me leave the best to last; a small menu is a good menu. There is a limited choice however they nailed every dish. Highly recommend.

Our group of 11 booked ahead and enjoyed the front balcony table. We ordered off the menu and shared quite a few dishes. My favourites were the Masala Dosa and Butter Chicken. The staff were very friendly & accommodating , after our meal they presented our birthday girl with a complimentary dessert and joined in singing happy birthday. Fun night! BYO and $5 corkage.
