I went to this restaurant for the first time based on high Trip Advisor reviews. My friend and I shared a Pizza and a pasta. The service was good and the ambiance was nice. The pizza was pretty disappointing. It kinda reminded me of inexpensive 2-for-1 pizza, had a thick bland crust and unevenly cut toppings. The taste was satisfactory. The linguine was average with a basic tasting sauce. I added chorizo meatballs which were good but nothing special. The good thing was that fresh grated cheese was offered by the server which added some flavour. The pop had a weird baking soda taste so the manager should check the soda fountain. Overall, the restaurant is nice but not as good as I had hoped for. The quality of the food didn't live up to the expectation set by its high rating and nice atmosphere.
We're looking for a eating place when we shopped at Tsawwassen Mills but after looking at the reviews of the restaurants there we decided to give Mario a try as its reviews were better. There was no greeter at the reception so we had to wait about 8 minutes before we could sit down though there were lots of empty seats at the time. Food arrived at average pace. Portion & presentation was quite big & nice. We ordered burger, pasta & some appetizer. All were quite tasty & the good thing was all things came out hot. Ambiance was cozy & casual, a bit warm & glaring on the window side on a sunny day though. Service was average.
Mario's feels both family friendly and upscale at the same time. We have been going there since Darren and Liz took over a few years ago. Time and again the food is wonderful and the service is great.
Mario's consistently has good service and good food. My husband enjoys the pizza and I typically have one of their salads. It is situated in a strip mall and they have indoor, outdoor seating.
