As Angeleno, I never expected to get Mexican food in a suburb of Baltimore, but here I am. I ordered the Gambas al ajillo to begin - they are a perfect part to share as an appetizer or have as a light meal - followed by barbacoa tacos. The shrimps were delicious, with a rich tomato-based sauce in which I softened the bread; the garlic was definitely present, but not overwhelming. There was a generous amount of lamb on the taco, and the preparation was perfect as the meat was juicy, tender and well seasoned. My partner was also very happy with his chicken bags. Darling took care of us. Jessenia was proud to talk to me about the history of Mari Luna. It is obvious that her father, the owner and cook, pours his heart, his soul and his culture into this institution. All in all, a great experience, and I come back when I'm in the area.
Better than ever Mexican restaurant. On a beautiful June night we ate on the outdoor terrace. We've come here occasionally, but we haven't been here for a while because of COVID. All 4 of the use enjoyed our drinks appetizers and entrees. We had delicious and refreshing margaritas and Sangria with our grilled shrimp appetizer (gambas al ajillo. The sauce was particularly delicious. I would recommend all entrees for which we had to taste. The house salad was enormous and filled with meat like salmon. The Lamb / Cordero Jalisco and ribs / Castillas de puerco were tender and juicy. Finally, the combination board allows you to build your own Mexican favorites.
Best Mexican! Authentic, well prepared, friendly service. Nothing bad to say. My sister and I had the Pupusas with cheese and pig and it was delicious. We plan to go back often and add Margaritas to the mix next time. It was busy for the food to be fresh and the prices are excellent. Many decisions for food. Yummy for your belly
If you want true Mexican food, this is the spot. Definitely going back. Not pictured are the chicken enchiladas with mole. Very good. Enchiladas with Ranchero sauce are awesome. They also have outdoor dining.
