I'd tried and loved Mamma DiSalvo's famous sauce from the grocery store, so I was excited to experience the restaurant where it was perfected! We dined in to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night with a party of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids), and had a wonderful meal. We split a bottle of wine among the table, along with orders of the charcuterie board and the meatballs. The meatballs are a must order full of flavor and served with that delicious red sauce this restaurant is known for. The charcuterie board was also a nice appetizer with a large selection of meats and cheeses. For my entree, I chose one of my Italian go to's Rigatoni Alla Vodka. I opted to top it with some of their housemade sausage, and definitely recommend making this addition if you a fan of Italian sausage. The portion sizes are huge and is absolutely enough for two meals. My husband ordered the Arabiatta and loved it he added meatballs to his dish. All entrees are served with their house bread, which is the perfect vehicle to soak up their succulent sauces. This restaurant certainly encompasses a classic Italian American feel. It's small and can feel a bit crowded at times, but the servers treat their customers like members of the family. I absolutely recommend Mamma DiSalvo's to anyone looking for a memorable Italian meal!
Saw the reviews on this place so we decided to go for dinner. We arrived early for dinner and it was already very busy. We waited about 20 minutes. I had the RIGATONI ALL'AMATRICIANA made with imported Guanciale, sautéed onions, wine, Mamma's Homemade Sauce and Pecorino with an order of meatballs. The Rigatoni was a bit overcooked, the sauce was just ok, and the portion was small for the price. Meatballs also were just ok. I don't see what the big attraction is.
